Step 1: Get your Kalshi API Key

  1. Go to kalshi.com and create a free account (requires US ID verification).
  2. Fund your account with at least a small balance (Aurora won't place trades without available margin).
  3. In your Kalshi dashboard, navigate to Settings โ†’ API Keys.
  4. Click Create API Key. Select RSA key type.
  5. Copy your Key ID (looks like: abc123de-f456-...).
  6. Download the private key file (.pem). Keep this safe โ€” you'll need it in Step 3.
  7. Make sure the API key has trading permissions enabled.
โš ๏ธ Your Kalshi private key is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being stored in our database. We never store it in plaintext.

Step 2: Get your Grok API Key

  1. Go to console.x.ai and sign in with your X (Twitter) account.
  2. Navigate to API Keys in the dashboard.
  3. Click Create API Key and copy the key (starts with xai-...).
  4. The free tier includes enough credits to run Aurora's 30-minute analysis cycles. Usage is roughly ~$0.50โ€“2/day depending on market volume.
  5. Aurora uses grok-4.20-0309-reasoning model with web search enabled for each trade decision.
๐Ÿ’ก Aurora uses live web search on every cycle โ€” this is what gives it an edge over models with stale training data.
Security: All keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM immediately on receipt and stored only as ciphertext. We cannot view your keys.
